First Meeting of the Year!

A review of the agenda today:

• Join the facebook group! 
• Update contact info for members
• Announce the blog (duh if you're here)
• Develop a mission for the year 
• Brainstorm our goal & target group for October
• Discuss Summit's new Adopt-A-Plot program (courtyard?) 
• Find a "recycling bin guru" & someone interested in notice board upkeep

On the Horizon

This Thursday we discussed what our basic plans are for upcoming projects.

• Feed the Hungry at Bend Community Center
• Recycling Bins in the Commons
• Plastic Bag Petition
• Humane Society Help Out
  
• Getting Summit classified as a "Green School"
• Adopt a road?
• Becca's Closet
  
• [We need to keep our eyes out for Animal opportunities]

We also need to work on our money situation, though Nellie, Andie and Emily did raise like $140 over Thanksgiving Break, selling reusable bags. I think we'll do this using those send out guys. I shall print those out by next group meeting.

Recycling Bin Clean Out

Today's clean out went smoothly, though there was a disappointing lack of diapers being recycled... Remember if you've signed up for a slot, we'll be moving clean up days to after school on WEDNESDAYS. Just find Naomi in the commons. :D
